Sony is kicking off 2026 with a solid lineup of PlayStation Plus games, giving subscribers plenty to play this month. Starting January 6, PS Plus members can download Need for Speed Unbound, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper for free. As usual, once you claim them, they’re yours to keep as long as your subscription stays active. You’ll have until February 2 to add them to your library.
Headlining January’s PlayStation Plus free games is Need for Speed Unbound, the latest entry in EA’s long-running racing franchise. Set in the street-racing-heavy city of Lakeshore (clearly inspired by Chicago), the game blends high-speed races with intense police chases. Winning races increases your Heat level, which means tougher cops and riskier getaways. Between races, you can customize your cars, take part in weekly qualifiers, and work toward the ultimate racing event known as The Grand. Whether you prefer solo play or online multiplayer, there’s plenty of content to keep you busy.
Another standout among January’s PlayStation Plus games is Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, a remastered version of the classic 2010 Wii title. This updated release features improved visuals and smoother gameplay for modern consoles. The story follows Mickey Mouse as he’s pulled into the Wasteland, a strange world filled with forgotten Disney characters. One of the game’s most memorable moments is Mickey’s encounter with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, adding an emotional layer to this nostalgic adventure.
Rounding out the lineup is Core Keeper, a cozy yet surprisingly deep survival game. Players explore a massive underground cavern filled with secrets, rare resources, and powerful enemies. Progression revolves around mining, crafting, base-building, and skill upgrades. When you’re not exploring, you can relax by farming, fishing, cooking meals, and caring for animals before preparing to face massive Titan bosses hidden deep underground.
If you haven’t claimed last month’s PlayStation Plus games, make sure to do so before January 5. December’s lineup included LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality: Echo of Ada, and Neon White.
